Reading the SCI-FI channel's forums, all the fans think the 4th series will be the last one, but I can't see it. This series is HUGE, so why would they stop it? Who knows, but by this time next year, we will know for sure!

I can see where the last ep of 3 points to that but I still think they could move it further than 4 seasons, especially with only 20 ep per season.
I'm new to all this but I just saw 30 minutes of an episode and I liked it.
I've never seen any Battlestar Galactica shows before.
Do I just watch the Mini series which explains the history and then watch series 1 / 2 as per usual?
Yeah pretty much.
Ratings have been falling steadily each season hence the last one being number 4.
And for all you early watchers that have been seeing the US Sci Fi rips, you'll be happy to know that the recent episode was only part 1 of the series finale. Much like S2, the finale is a 2 hour jobbie, and the 2nd part will air in the US on Sunday.
According to AICN that is, can't check SciFi.com from here to verify. Good news if so.
Ratings for everything on SciFi have been falling since they split up the Wednesday night line up, used to be SG1, Atlantis and BSG.
That and all these bloody stupid Reality TV programs dont help...
I'd been watching it on Sky, and had about four episodes stacked up on +, in the end I just got so bored with it I deleted the lot. Cannot be bothered watching it, and it just didn't have enough to keep me hooked.
The actress playing Starbuck pissed me off no end, and the fact that Baltar was played by Bridget Jones' gay friend didn't help in the slightest.

As far as I was aware the episode that aired in the US on the 25th was the last episode of the series. Certainly makes sense to end on a nice big cliffhangar much like the previous seasons have.
Just watched the mini series with the missus and it wasn't much to shout about. I'll try to watch the next series but I'll be doing it by myself
You are correct - I was reading the article as if Crossroads part 2 had a second part also. What AICN were referring to were of course Crossroads part 1 and part 2 being a 2 hour special in themselves, despite being split over 2 weeks.
Think I was just misleading myself in the hope there would be just one more episode...
It's really worth it - you're right that the miniseries is OK, but not great. The story really kicks off with episode 1 of season 1, but you need to have seen the mini to put it in context.
The characters become more refined as it goes on too, and it really starts to become a great show.
I am really into this am bang up to date (maybe a bit ahead of the UK) I'm on ep 20 Series 3
It's a cover of a Bob Dylan song. Think it's All Along The Watchtower.
