I never do shuffle!
I pick a artist and let every single song i got of theres play, then i go pick another artist.
Pretty much pick and mix, but whenever I listen to Jose Gonzalez, it has to be the whole albumSame with OK Go.
I've a couple of 1GB SD cards with MP3s for the slot in my car's headunit. I normally have it on a random selection but can override to play a single album/directory.
Stick to playing albums if i can. As for HOW i actually listen to them...try to walk to most places so just listen on the mp3 player, so by the time i arrive it's the end of the journey.
I either leave my playlist on shuffle (about 10k tracks). or use winamps 'jump to' dialog.
I have a playlist for all my 'singles' which is on shuffle but otherwise its an album on shuffle or all tracks on shuffle
Mostly listen to music on the move, while commuting to work, have ipod set to random play, although sometimes listen by album. Do like to give new albums a chance though, so will go thru em track by track.
However, i oftentimes find myself losing patience when playing thru an album with weaker songs, even when listening to it for the 1st time. Case of only looking for the "big" tunes and not giving the others a chance, so trying to change that habit, as certain songs take longer to make an impression on you, but they could turn out to be your favourite tracks in the end.
Pick and mix with shuffle on all the time. However, occassionally, especially when I've just bought a new album, I'll listen to the album as a whole.
An Atlantean Triumvirate, Ghosts of the Past, The Centre Cannot Hold
The Pillars of Britain, Foundations of the Reich, Cracks in the Pillars.
My books are available here for Amazon Kindle. Feedback always welcome!
Usually just choose an album (got it sorted D:\Albums\Artist\Album\Track.mp3) and play that in Windows Media Player. It's all that's needed, and I hate Winamp.

I just generally open Winamp (WMP ATM - reformatted, CBA downloading Winamp as yet). And choose a song rather than messing around with playlists. Sometimes open an entire album.
I've recently been converted to foobar, after winamp ate it's own face and managed to give me the first BSOD I've seen in years.
Foobar + columnUI = <3
Winamp 5, double click all artists and skip through any unwanted tracks using FoxyTunes if browsing the web
Sometimes if i feel like listening to a particular artist/album, then I will![]()

Shove my whole collection on random and skip any tracks i dont feel like listening to. Usually surfing the web at the same time so it's goo d background music.
I use itunes, which I never used to like until I got ipod a couple of years ago. Use v7 now and love the 3D jukebox stylee album art view, very very sweet. Used about 200mb RAM though so just as well ive got tons, but there is no need for it to use that much all the same.
