Watched Dragon Tiger Gate last night. It's a great action flick, but the story is bland. It starts off like the Marvel films with the flicking through of a comic book.

favourite ? i couldnt choose, but watched Police Story and Project A, both ground breaking movies, Meals on wheels (funny kung-fu, 80's ).

And Casshern, man when i saw that film it took blue screen to a new level!! made sin city look like pinnochio! One of the main fights really gets a comic book feel to it, really is like 'real live action' anime, a lot of phylosophy too. only a couple of ££ as well.

Yes he did. It's a delicacy in Korea, AFAIK, so not quite as shocking to the natives I guess.

I agree, Cassherns visuals were stunning. I recommend giving Natural City a shoot too.

Or if you don't like Asian movies just wait till Hollywood remakes them.
Just off the top of my head, and not counting old ones like 7 Samurai or Yojimbo-
Ringu, Ringu 2, Ju-on, Ju-on 2, Dark Water, Tale of Two Sisters, The Eye, Battle Royale, Old Boy, Shall We Dance, Siworae, Infernal Affairs, My Wife Is A Gangster, My Sassy Girl.
There's probably half a dozen others that should be on the list that I can't think of.

Blimey, where to start ... I've been spending time building up collecting and I can definately recommend this lot (yes some have been mentioned before but hey, they're cracking films):

    Bang-Rajan
    Better Tomorrow
    Bichunmoo
    Brotherhood (Tae Guk Gi)
    Casshern
    Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon
    Dark Water
    Fearless (Huo Yuan Jia)
    Grudge (Ju On)
    H
    Hard Boiled
    Hero
    House of Flying Daggers
Ichi The Killer (not seen the original anime version)
Infernal Affairs (I'd like to see how the Hollywood version compares to this)
    Into The Mirror
    JSA (Joint Security Area)
    Kagemusha
    Koma
    Kung Fu Hustle
    Lady Vengeance
    Oldboy
    Ong-Bak
    R-Point
    Sympathy For Mr Vengeance
    Visitor Q
    Warrior (Musa)
    (more on the way!)

It might be worth checking http://www.tartanvideo.com/ as they have, and sell, a nice bunch and most releases have DTS soundtracks in the original language. I started collecting after being continually disappointed with the standard of Hollywood. The independant and Asian scenes are much better these days - more originality.

I just watched Quil and would highly recommend you lot to watch it ( esp that you are a dog lover).

Some of the films mentioned are awesome, the Infernal Affairs trilogy and Ong Bak being stand outs imo. Here are a few I own that I highly recommend:

    Versus
    Princess Blade
    Azumi 1 & 2

All 4 are fantastic films (and the star of Azumi is hot!).
