V for Vendetta

I saw this movie on release at the cinema and was blown away by it, so much so that I even had to write about it.

I've now got the movie on DVD and watched it for the second time tonight, it completely blew me away again. What a fantastic picture!

If you haven't seen this one, stop reading now and head to your local DVD rental store.

I watched about 30 mins of it before falling asleep. Not the movie, it was a night shift at work . As much as I can remember it was good, will try and watch the rest tonight.

Just remember that Alan Moore refused to allow them to put his name on the credits. I suppose that tells you all you need to know about what they did to his original story.

The film's OK, I'll have to reread the comic again to compare.

Not a big fan of comics so I guess I watched it with an unprejusticed view and really rather enjoyed it

will watch it again in the not too distant future !

It had me hooked from the moment I put it on. Really enjoyed it, script is superb as is the acting.

Hugo Weaving was great even though you never seen his face. Bit of a waste of his talent.

it differs. characters have been resculpted a little for greater cinematographical effect, and it's... comic book in its approach, whereas the original comics are less so (it feels less 'real' as it were)

of course, one thing that few fans of the comics will admit to is that they're dull in the middle - book 2 is drab. the film keeps a reasonable pace throughout

i've read the books, and enjoyed the movie, but i'm more open to scriptwriters' liberties than many people

Saying which, Watchmen has its dull moments as well...

Think I would have prefered if the end of the film matched the book. I see it as having an important message fo the whole thing.

Well if you haven't, you should go out and read everything Alan Moore ever wrote, especially Watchmen, From Hell, Promethea and Swamp Thing (and V for Vendetta of course). Moore's had several of his books made into films and they never come near the experience of reading the real thing.

Definately preffer the original of LXG to the film....
