Muse - Black holes........ What Do You Think!!

Ever since I heard Sunburn for the very first time (on radio driving along Brighton Seafront)
I have liked Muse - the whole package just seems so right.

Their sound on this latest album is certainly different, and although undoubtebley more commercialised I cannot help really liking it, the released tracks are great, Starlights a real anthem, The title track is a great dance/rock combo and Map of the problamitique - tips hat to Depeche Mode - which IMO is never a bad thing.

What do you guys think of the change??????

Thumbs up from me bought this a while back. its good to see a group with talent at playing a musical instrument making music, rather than the oodles of crap that everybody thinks is good these days. grr!

Great album, maybe not as good as their second although every song is great.

In my view Muse are one of the best British bands out there at the moment.

I like it, once again they deliver, and their change of sound from album to album is quite refreshing. But I still prefer Absolution

I like it, it's slightly less apocalyptic, but not too much

However I still love to whack on Stockholm Syndrome at full volume.

I saw some of the footage on TV and they certainly looked the part, I would have loved to have been there myself - however the missus is dead against the whole festival thing, so I will have to try to get tickets for their fourthcoming tour!!

Knight of Cydonia... the perfect ending to a superb album, I have like them since Muscle Museum
"I've heard there is a common problem with this item from forums" - If you read some forums they believe Elvis was abducted by aliens, doesn't mean it's true.

Hmm, only on my second or third listen so far, but the initial soundings to me at least are that it's a very mixed bag - it's literally one good song, one bad song across the album.

It really lacks the darkness or the elegance of their earlier work - there's hints that they used to be a super band (map of the problematique is excellent - but it never goes anywhere), but then it's almost as if someone came into the studio and pushed it more towards the pop end of what they do.

    Exceptions:
City Of Delusion, loving the trumpets.
Knights of Cydonia, although if they make any Queen sections I'll get angry.
Glorious (bonus track) is just generally quite good.

I've just got hold of a copy, seems OK. I loved supermassive black holes when it was released although it soon became over played.

Will listen to it properly later on today

Great Album, although outshone by some of their old stuff, seems to cater to a wider audience than previous albums. Definitely grows on me the more I listen to it, love Exo-Politics and KoC, brilliant tunes.

Going to see 'em at Sheffield in November, can't wait ;D
