AOL networked, Yuk!
I have just set up a little network for some friends of mine, but unfortunately They use AOL for their ISP. So I have set up analogX to share the net connection.
Now apparently they can't connect to peer 2 peer services (such as Kazaa) or use a webcam on their computers (not the main server)
Is AnalogX whats causing those things not to work? I haven't look at it yet, but first assumption is AnalogX.
Any ideas?

EDIT: Is it anything to do with socks? (I haven't got a clue about socks btw)

Analog X will not allow things like p2p connections or webcams across the kind of netwrk you describe, I know as i have also tried to use the same things, It will also not allow IRC for example.
unless someone has a fix?

It works but the software must be able to let you set the proxy server details to access the net, otherwise you're not able to.

I find it far easier to blame AOL in this instance. If you can, try and fob them off with the reason that AOL really does suck, it's going to be far too much hassle to get it working.

I could tell them how much AOL sux over and over, but unfortunately they think its great, even with all the problems I've had! (They even gave me an AOL trial cd for xmas, trying to "convert" me! lol!)
Anyways, cheers! I'll have a look at some of the individual software settings sometime for them.
Thanks
