    Serious Annoying Internet Connection _ Please Help

    Hi,

    i am having a very iritating internet problem. i am with pipex 8mb broadband and at times it runs fast and smooth but everyday between5 oclock(pm) and 11 oclock(pm) is keep dropping every 5 minutes therefore my msn signs out and it is sooo annoying.

    if anyone has a solution or help to this problem or is even experiencing this annoyance please respond

    Looks like your probably being peak time bandwidth managed. You'll get a better response in pipex support forums (asuming they have them) or calling them.

    What do you mean by bandwidth managed.. will they be able to change it?

    I'm with pipex and was having some major contention issues (limited bandwidth in the evening hours) for about a month and then the problem just went away.

    I wasn't getting the disconnects but a lot of people are struggling with Pipex issues at the moment.

    A good place to start looking (and they have a great bandwidth tester) is DSL Zone UK:

    i am also with pipex and also have the same issues with the bandwidth and also ocasionaly with the loss of connection problem! Must say tho my off-peak speeds are pretty good!!! its just that peak time between 5pm and 11pm thats not that amazing!!!

    AOL are doing the same.
    Its big rip-off tbh but besides telling them to ram their contract there isnt alot you can do.

    I bet £20 they wont tell you the truth when you ring though.
    They will blame it on your line/exchange/repairs/maintenance.

    Pipex are up for sale and have decided to put a 70GB FUP limit on. Last I knew they were sending out countless letters each month to anyone going over than giving them the option to migrate to bulldog, go to another isp or pay more...
