    Woohoo.
You know it's promising when the engineer turns up with a box of SFPs and fibre patch cords to connect your router up!

Re: Your broadband speed - post here

So, after considering upgrading to the 500mbit circuit, Virgin Media seem to have rolled out a Vivid 350 upload speed boost. Came after their network seemed to fail for about an hour but I'm happy.
    21Mbps~ish to 36Mbps~ish for free.

It's now more like 10:1 than the 19:1 that it was.

Re: Your broadband speed - post here

    multiple connections

single connection (TCP stream, maybe UDP)

Vodafone VDSL 40mbit service in W6 London. Had it about 5 months now - happy with the router and the level of service. Good value think it cost me £24 a month maybe £20 (my head is not what it used to be! ).

I remember first getting an email address on a BBS with an internal PCI 28.8 modem. Might have been ISA actually.
Then the good old days of Direct Connect ISP and free calls evening and weekend to my ISP via my 3rd party phone provider (Videotron). Thanks West London.

Such is progress. I have a feeling with lower bandwidths of mobiles we should be good with ADSL and VDSL for services for a while. I was getting 40.7 mbps on Vodafone 4G LTE in Hammersmith yesterday on the main road.

I'm a little surprised that 28% of the UK have faster broadband than this and me already. I wasn't considering an upgrade though HyperOptic have been planning a roll out here in Hammersmith, I was in fact thinking I might go back to 24 ADSL (I fortunately get about 23 down here with a decent ISP) if the price is right at the end of my contract.

Little 4k streaming here (yet). I have a 1440p monitor. I just found this cool service https://www.caffeine.tv might get myself an upgrade webcam and stream games a bit. Would like to do more youtube.

yep I'm back to random linking. I am taking pot luck guesses at the Hexus demographic and applying my online marketing prowess. Product: Me.

Im with Talktalk (sky) - using wifi for the main computer rig as I dont want an ethernet cable running through the house!
Everyone elses speeds however does make me think i may need to upgrade :S

This building (grade 1 listed) also doesnt have any fibre so I think im already at the max i can go
