    BB ISP suggestions

    Hi

I'm looking for a decent provider for a friend. He is in the country temporarily and wants the following:

BB connection upto 8meg will be fine i.e BT standard.
Unlimited download, but a cap of 10g is fine as he will just be srufing and mailing.

Min contract 3-6 months,i.e he doesn't wnat to be tied into a year.

No connection charge, good rep for customer service and stableprovider. It doesnt have to be the cheapest £20 a month will be ok.

The ones I am looking at are freedom2surf and plsunet.

I know Plusnet used to have a great rep, but am unsure now.

    Any other suggestions welcome. thanks.

I am very happy with be - but I use the connection a lot...

a couple of years ago plusnet upset a lot of people by introducing caps on their "unlimited" service... and also telling people that they have to leave for downloading too much... this info isnt exactly up to date though, lol

Post this in thinkbroadband.co.uk forums and you will probably get a better answer than you will get here...

I left plusnet after their throttling before approaching my usage limit crippled my connection.

I'm now on newnet, £18 for 12Gig unthrottled or shaped, been fine so far.

Thanks I have posted on adslguide as I still call it. I rememeber the fallout with plusnet. I think I will cross them off the list. How things change.

Be is the obvious one, but he is not in a be enabled area.
I personally use Bulldog and they have been pretty good, 2 years ago they were a nightmare.

So its newnet and or freedom2surf who seem the frontrunners.

I'll do the math for him and let them make the choice.I noticed BT are introducing a cessation charge as well.

    Thanks

If he wants no contract term he will more than likley have to pay an activation charge, it's a one or the other situation with most ISP's.
