Noise on normal phone line whilst using adsl?

Has any one else had this problem before I think it could be either modem or the microfilter. The phone line is fine when the modem's connection is pulled out but really hissy when its in.

I'm using a netgear DG384G router with the supplied microfilter.

I was told that each phone needs a microfilter, im guessing its true then.

Crappy microfilter I'm afraid. The cheap Ebuyer ones seem to have this behaviour. There is a fix linked to from the ebuyer reviews IIRC.

Yep, every phone point should have a microfilter, if it has a phone plugged into it.

Like the other fellas say, sounds like you have a dodgy microfilter there
