gosh, i was going to make a constructive and insightful post, but i got confused with the bad spelling and grammer...
Bluetooth isnt that fast, depends on the speed of your net, but i wouldnt recommend it. Also has very short range
512Kb speed will it do?
Don't skimp and buy bluetooth, which isn't a lot cheaper than WiFi anyway. You will waste your money. Bluetooth was never designed for networking, more like connecting your phone to a PC etc.
Go to ebuyer and get a couple of Linksys 802.11b cards. Slowest and cheapest run at 11mbps.
Oh, and download ieSpell ;)
LoL ok ne way i got it on order now its only realy for cheapness till i get money up from my pc catastrafy lol :D
Let us know how you get on with it. What Bluetooth dongles did you order?
Epox ;) tells ya in my post in hardware :D
Ahem, its Barton not Bartron. ;)Quote:

/me runs for the hills.
I know that now lol plus thats now in heaven with my old 1800+ :( Oh well new 1700+ now soon to be 2.5 -.6Ghz :D
You can do PPP networking over Bluetooth so you should be able to share an internet connection. Not sure what the max speed is but it should be comfortably higher than a 56k modem which may be the limiting factor for you. I'm not sure about other forms of networking such as samba (file/printer sharing) - let me know how you get on.
Ok M8 i will do ;) well i think my mum can cope playing solitar and online bubble bobble type games @ that speed lol ;) hay waite a minit i just spent my money on my mum for no good reson :o HeHe
we looked into this a while ago, and came to the conclusion that bluetooth is really just for perhiperals ? but COULD be used for networking ....... there's a small operating distance tho aint there ?
30Meters or 10 threw stone ;)
ach thats not so bad then really :)
Compared to 100m+ with 802.11g, and the low speed its not worth the little saving
You can get bluetooth cards for PCs with up to 100m range. It's only phones and low powered devices that have a range limited to 10m or so. If you want networking, go wireless lan, but if you need bluetooth for syncing a phone, remote control or whatever you can network with it. Next time my family put in an order from ebuyer or whoever I'm going to cadge a bluetooth card or two to test it.
Well will do nice for my laptop to pc link for my mum lol :D
I used bluetooth with my Nokia 7650. It worked really well but I sold it and until I got my P800, I had no use for the dongle (which I gave away  ).
Bluetooth is cool for small devices (like a 6310i + Palm Tungsten T). For PC to PC wireless, Id think using WiFi would be a much better bet realistically. Still, each to their own.
Bluetooth can also be really good fun with certain apps. I have a harmless app for the P800, which proximity scans for discoverable bluetooth phones and handhelds and then sends "you've been bluejacked" messages to them  heehehehe
LOL sounds kool :D i got a scanner in my laptop tho it never picks ne ting up :(
I work near the Symbian Cambridge offices (and Nokia across the road).
Local pub on a friday lunchtime, I guarantee there are at least 10 discoverable bluetooth devices available to ping "bluejack" messages to
