wireless router

i got a wireless router which does nothing could i use it like a access point?

what router is it? you may be able to run open-wrt / dd-wrt on it and customise it

Yes you can use it as an AP by plugging it into either a router or a switch. If you are running DHCP on another device make sure you dissable it on the router you are using as an AP.
