hello,
after my post about the bt home hub ive had an idea but dont know if its possible.
since the bt home hub cuts off alot i want to replace it with say a e.g. netgear, linksys us robotics or draytek.
im not sure i would want to pay £150 for a router thou even thou drayteks have alot of settings which i like.
the bt home hub is restrictive so i cant even change the DNS settings or set up mac address filtering.
is it possible to use a e.g. linksys router for my inernet and then plug the bt homehub ethernet to ethernet to the linksys router just to use the home hub for free evening and weekend phone calls by plugging my normal phone in to the home hub.
im hoping by plugging a ethernet cable from the home hub to the linksys router will mean the homehub gets the internet from the linksys router and then i can have a reliable internet connection and still use the home hub for the phone.
if so that would be alot more reliable than using the home hub for everything.
thanks in advance
lodore
