Nildram - Anyone else had problems?

    Hi all,

Anyone else had any Nildram issues? We've been getting a constant problem where the speed drops to about 5kb/s total throughput until the router is restarted (not the router i've tested that elsewhere). Today I've restarted the router (to resolve this throughput issue) and now I don't have any throughput at all. Nildram have said they have been aware of the issue since 5:45pm yesterday....

Seriously How can you go 16 hours without any service? Its truly shocking.

Can anyone suggest a good supplier for Business ADSL?

    Thanks
    Tom Scott,

Looking at our monitoring software, 8 out of the 11 home office connections we have with Nildram are down. The ADSL we have in the office for visitors is currently up but the log on the router shows it has been up and down like a yoyo since yesterday morning.

We've been having problems with Nildram since the deployment of ADSLMax connections, which truly suck if you don't care that much about speed but DO care about stability. We've basically been swapping out our DLink DSL-300T and 320T modems for Draytek Vigor 100 ethernet modems and they've been great, however. May be worth considering.

I'm positive its not the modem, Nildram are saying its the modem, but its not as thats been tested elsewhere. Our problems also started when ADSL Max was rolled out

Agreed; the modem is probably NOT the problem, but getting NilPipe to admit that's probably more grief than it's worth. Our Dlink modems were working fine for ages until the Max rollout, and we were able to get an improvement by telling Pipedram to set the connection to be standard ADSL 2Mbit rather than Max. That said, the fixed rate offering is being withdrawn by BT Wholesale - Max'll be your only option. That being the case, I'd at least have a bash with the Draytek modem - they're only about £45 ex VAT from Dabs, though you do need a router behind them. So far, as I say, they've really sorted stability on the sites where we've deployed them.

I'll try it out.... I'm on the blower to them now to see when they think this will be sorted.

HAHA sorry the hold message "Some customers may experience an issue where they can connect but not pass data, we apologise for this minor inconvenience". MINOR? Basically connecting and not being able to pass data is as bad as not being to connect at all, which isn't minor.

I sympathise; I've spent quite some time on hold with them recently. And yes, their definition of "minor" is a little...fanciful.

Moved away from Nildram last September due to a gradual service decline. Had 4 great years with them tho.

Its still down, I'm pretty unhappy about this, the fact they gave me a resolution time of "today or tommorow" is even worse.

All of ours bar 2 are up but one guy is complaining that his IPSEC VPN connection is slow as hell - not surprising considering he has 75% packet loss to the first hop outside Nildram.

It's a shame to see what used to be a very good ISP go down hill this much.

Their core network went down completely today. And I've got to agree with the posters above, problems started with the roll-out of the Max product. My D-Link equipment doesn't seem to like the continual fluctuation of the connection either.

w00t, i downloaded so much i crashed Nildram!

Actually i havent had any problems (in the cambs area). I did think that service was getting worse, but then i noticed that enabling upnp had screwed my port forwarding.

And another thing, even though i keep using my 50gb limit to the wire, every other month they tell me i didnt use any of last months quota and give me an extra 50gb on top!

    you aint seen me, riight?
