Why would XP ask me to restart?

When I only changed the IP address? Shouldn't it just work, like the million other times I've done it? It also seems to have an issue picking up an address via DHCP.

I'm using an Asus A7N8X mainboard with onboard LAN.

I have solved it... Seems to be all I need to do is post a thread about being miffed and then I aint

Turns out that the DHCP client service was disabled, and therefore it couldn't pick an IP up, or make changes to the settings without a restart.
