man, I am pissed off. The duplicate messaging was because my internet was too slow and it kept hanging...
Virgin media ripped me off big time and the funny thing they don't pay you back they just say that they'll give some points, however they phrase it as "we will credit it to your account" but that doesn't mean bank account it means you virgin media account
here's a facebook group as well:

I think I must be one of the lucky ones. Been on cable since the days of Telewest, then Blueyonder and now VirginMedia. I constantly get my full 20MB speeds, very rarely limited even with the 2 machines in the house, the 2 laptops and then the 360 and ps3. Only time I have been limited is when I grabbed the latest ubuntu releases for 32 and 64 bit and netbook remix in the same few hours of getting in from work. Other than that, the only issue I do seem to have atm is the V+ HD Box constantly freezing or resetting itself, quite a few others I know who have it and are miles away also have the same issue's with the TV side of things.
so virgin broard band are we getting what we pay for? pushing us to download after 9pm,
its such a rip off all this rubbish about fair sharing what hearding us like cattle to a 9pm slot
with tit bits in between down load what they call to much before 9pm and they cap you.
if they put the price up im off too sky also if they dont change there ways .
try 50mg they said then they cut you down to 10mg in sted of 2mg?,if you download before 9pm
i take photos that are ten meg try uploading a good few of those.
virigin or who ever you are at this time think a head loose us now or later
That is so wrong on so many levels.
I have the 50Mb and no matter how much I download/Stream be it 1 Gb or 100 Gb, there is NO traffic management applied at all to the 50 Mb connection at the present time.
I must be in the minority as I'm happy to pay around £20-£30 a month for a good stable internet connection as £1 a day is nothing for a very fast connection.
I bet some people spend more than this each day on coffee from coffeeshops than their connection.
Actually, there is traffic management on the 50Mbit platform but only related to uploads (you need to upload > 6000Mb between 3pm and 8pm then you get your upload speed cut to 65% for 5 hours). Also it only applies once your connection has the 5Mbit upload rather than the current 1.5Mbit.
Not as yet.
They state the following ;
As such, when this comes into effect the upload speed when throttled is going to be faster than what it is currently set at now (1.5Mb) and as such this isn't going to be much of an issue overall as it's still faster than what is currently in placeCustomers with Broadband size: XXL (50Mb) – your downstream usage excluding file sharing traffic (see below) remains unaffected and we'll soon be increasing your upload speeds from 1.5Mb to 5Mb. However during peak times we'll need to slow you back to 1.75Mb if your upload usage is particularly high.![]()
My speeds have also been terrible of late, so bad I can't do online gaming in the evening anymore. The big fat shame is that there is no other decent provider in my area (just the standard BT rubbish) so, for so to speak, I am stuck with these guys until I move house!
I am on the 10MB service btw.
tbh I dont tend to notice speed issues in my area.
My conection only gets used between 9pm and about 12pm, then the p2p gets switched on when I got bed and back off again at about 7.30am before I goto work, between then and 9pm the only machine on is my server and that doesnt do anything during the day.
I'm on 20Mb btw..
