First slightly odd experience i've had, but wouldn't change it for the world.

I work in a small pc repair shop and you can guess its going to be busy for the next few days !!![]()
In days gone by (1988 ish), we got a direct hit on the "sub on a pole" in the back field - the sub tranny supplies our house and several others. It fried my hifi amp and PC monitor but the insurance paid out and I got some nice new kit. Not taking chances any more, as others, every plug gets pulled at the first sign now.
Don't forget TV aerials !!!!!
I usually never unplug PC stuff when thunder/lightning show up, I really should...i'm sure a Voyager 205 wouldn't stand much of an overvolt from lightning!
(or indeed much of the equipment plugged in for that matter - I just picked the Voyager because its got 2 ways to get zapped!)

I just use belkin surge protectors like most people I suspect. But I have the advantage that in bad weather my BT line is almost useless for surfing, since with a few drops of rain in the right place, the BT exchange shuts up shop for anyone who wants the internet. Best reason to turn the PC off, so have never tried out Belkin's promise.
I must confess though Re-Invented, I thought Belkin replaced damaged equipment if protected with the surge protector, not the protector for doing its job. Damn good purchase if they replace it for doing its job
