However there are some inaccuravcies in the above report...
For example it points out that speeds of up to 100Mb/s are available in Japan, but omits to say that those are often backbone speeds to apartment blocks, and that the end user doesn't get that speed.
It alsdo points out that the speed limitation in UK is because of the copper link - true in some cases, although it is the length of the copper rather than existence of it that is the limting factor - fibre to roadside boxes and then shorter copper links to teh home helps overcome that.
However the most interesting bit is thae fact that Britain is one of the more expensive broadband countries, but ignores the fact that these prices are regulated by OfCom (or what ever they are called todayy) and kept artificially high to encourage LLU. It also i=gnores the fact that UK has one of the highest prenetrations of BB to the population!
It would be interesting to read the original report...
