    Re: BeThere.co.uk - Wow

Gave Be card details yesterday, got an email at 11.30pm last night saying service will be activated on the 21st (this Friday) and the BeBox welcome pack will be dispatched tomorrow for delivery 20th or 21st.

Sounds way too good to be true! Order processed on Monday, kit delivered and connected and all online on Friday of the same week? (I don't currently have broadband so there's no migration.)

I'm thinking of taking the day off - but I've read people who've got their BeBox pack 2 days after the line was activated because it wasn't dispatched until activation day. Do you with Be think that if they say I'll have the kit and be activated Friday, that it actually will all work so soon?

Mine was activated very quickly (new line/broadband)
And the router was sent out a bit too quick I had to get it sent to an alternative address. My router came 2/3 days before the activation date (Parcel Force)

Our Router came the day before our line was active. Once active we got another SMS update to state this so we plugged the router in, did the update and away it went at silly speeds.

    Re: BeThere.co.uk - Wow

Are there any uk websites that do speed testing or perhaps a speed test facility at BE ?

I connect at around 17mb according to dmt but mainly download from the US around the 1600k/s mark which (if i'm calculating correctly :s) is equivalent to 12.8mb(1600x8) still much better than my previous isp pipex though that varied alot between 100-600k/s.

    Re: BeThere.co.uk - Wow

    Blimey - update:

Signed up and paid Be yesterday
11.30pm yesterday - details as previous post, box will dispatch Wednesday, line active Friday...

1.30pm today - box already dispatched...!

Now I'm one who likes deliveries to turn up when expected, not late or early (I'm either there expecting it, or not). But given that I expected 2-4 weeks to get online with Be (and didn't think that unreasonable), it really looks like it'll be this Friday and I'll definitely have the kit beforehand.

    I'll say it again. Blimey.

    Re: BeThere.co.uk - Wow

I think they are one of the best and fastest responding ISP's on the market.

I've never come across an ISP who deals with 'tickets' and lines as quick as Be There.

I just hope they have the infrastructure to deal with this increased demand - probably from all hexus users

    Re: BeThere.co.uk - Wow

My God what a shocking state of affairs their 'customer support' is in. I tried to migrate to Be after my exchange was finally enabled last month and they made such a complete royal ballsup of the whole affair that I cancelled it in favour of waiting for a provider that knows what it's talking about. Their first line support is in Bulgaria and they're quite rude if they come up against anything that isn't in the 'script', add to that the fact that they often lie or outright blame BT for something that is in fact their problem or doing and you've got a recipe for disaster.

I know full well that this is to be followed by a raft of 'I've had no problems with Be' and 'CS were very helpful' but I can quite categorically guarantee you if something goes wrong on the technical side you're well and truly stuffed.

Very glad I cancelled in time, I'm perfectly happy to stick to Aquiss where I at least get what I'm paying for and more.

    Re: BeThere.co.uk - Wow

Absolutely not, the response I got from them after kicking them for any kind of information after two weeks of waiting was that my line was (verbatim) 'unserviceable' and that I would need to either clear the line (note: there is no tag on the line) or order a new line from BT. Brill eh?

BT say, 'no mate, nothing wrong with your line'. Guy at exchange says, 'yup, everything fine here'. Current ISP, Aquiss, say, 'Nothing wrong here'. I say, 'Nothing wrong here getting full 8Mb and absolutely no problems with my line that I've had broadband installed on since 2000'

    Be say...."Uhhh? <points at BT and shrugs>"

i had totally the same experience trying to get connected. The customer support is terrible, they tell you nothing and you have to push them to get any kind of information.

They seem to blame BT for everything but cant actually tell you what the problem is. I got told its because of the Data protection act - they just seem to make stuff up
