    Broadband stops incoming calls

My sister has recently gotten broadband but has a problem with incoming calls if broadband cable is in micro filter (I suspect.) Whenever anybody tries to call her, BT disconnect call almost straight away saying there is a fault. She has tried ringing Tech Support and got nowhere (what's new there?)

Is this problem down to the micro filter, modem should not be at fault? PLease advise further

    Many thanks

My money's on either a line fault (which usually magically disappears after you report it to BT and they tell you that the line is fine) or a filtering issue. Does the broadband connection drop when the phone rings? If so I suspect it's a filtering issue.

make sure ALL the sockets are filtered. I had a friend who had this problem and we found his skybox was going through a dodgy filter.

Use good quality BT approved filters - not the el cheapo £1.50 types.
