    Virgin (telewest) issues?

I seem to be having horrendous service for my internet currently

It's a 20mb connection, suitable for online gamers as it says in the description...

We get at best 10mb (which was me connected directly by a 1m ethernet cable to the modem) and a ping of 250ms+ (again ethernet connection and only me)

I have run all the optimistations etc and still get a very poor quality connection.

Nothing shows up as working on the line, and as the ping is horrendous none of us can play online (which is what it is advertised for)

Is this a normal occurance? It started off great then has degraded after 2 months, and I appreciate although I am in a 12 month contract breaking the SOGA is obviously terms to terminate the contract on my side of things.

    Re: Virgin (telewest) issues?

I've been having some issues with connection speeds too lately which started about a month ago.

I've only got the 2 meg broadband, but it was always fine. Speedtest.net in the past showed that I got roughly 2 meg, but it currently runs at 1 meg or even less sometimes, and these are at times when the bandwidth shaping isn't supposed to happen.

Even browsing websites can be a pain.

Well my average ping is 250ms or so still, internet speed fluctuates from 256k to 10mb on speedtest, totally unacceptable IMO, and that can be at 4am or 7pm (wired or wireless, makes no difference really)

Going to call them tomorrow to complain, peeved off I have to call a premium rate number to report the issue!!!
