help me find an alternative to godaddy for hosting....

well, I have a personal website with godaddy, but godaddy's hosting is horribly slow, and their PHP installation is ridiculously restricted, so for my next foray into the web i really want a better host.

it needs to be quite cheap (about, $5, like my godaddy account) and i dont want to be forced to pay a year or two years in advance like some hosts want you to. it also needs to have quite good space/bandwidth limits.

the other thing that would be desirable would be if they are slightly respected for not giving in to baseless legal threats.... dont get me wrong, i am not doing anything illegal, its just that some companies that have hyperactive lawyers may want to send S&D orders to my host that they have no intention of following up...

    thanks in advance!

Try ComputingHost or HostGator.. Both are very reliable and I have used them both...
