My Bro's pc has a gigabyte m57sli-s4 ,pbp (nforce 570sli chipset)...installed xp and browsed the net for a day or two trouble free..
Now when browsing...or trying to transfer files from my PC to his...the speed has suddenly decreased horrendously..web pages takes an age to appear and transfering a 4 mb file took about 10 minutes or more.
Any suggestions please..apart from buying another NIC card?

Make sure you are not using the nvidia firewall and make sure you have latest drivers.
Yep cheers, he's not using nvidia firewall and his drivers are up to date. I think maybe the onboard NIC has finally had it's chips?
He's now running uTorrent, right? That's the issue...
no torrents or anything like that..just browsing the net. It's worked fine in the past too. Odd.
Tried a new network cable?
Yes thanks toolsong. Tried everything i can think of. Looks like a trip to the network card shop is in order.
