    PPPoA & ADSL

Now I wonder if any of you could help me with a little problem.

After 3 days I've finally managed to find a driver for my USB ADSL modem under linux. Oh, it was REAL fun compiling it and all that

Anyway, we get a showtime on it now, and PPPoATM seems to work. Now, all I need to do is work out how to login over PPP to my ISP (with my username and password) and get thing thing an IP (dynamically assigned by my ISP.)

Any tips/links? I think I might be able to bodge a script together from some others I've come across, but I'd rather get some more definite opinions, lol.

    Cheers,
    Unts.

I have a router and do not like it.

LOL, wrote this a couple of hours ago! It's not finished yet, so technically I shouldn't be linking to it, but you're welcome to have a look at it so far.

In the end I will write in info on PPPoE as well - as I've managed to translate a lot of a spanish driver instructions (by translate, I mean translating the poor english translation of it, lol.)

Good work, chap.. I'll definitely give it a try when I get enough time. I've tried doing the same with a conexant pci modem more than twice, and given up on both attempts

Most of the guides out there are written by linuxzoids for linuxzoids, and I'm not quite a linuxindiloid yet, your guide looks like it's in a bit more English than the rest. Thanks!

Thanks - my guide is not perfect yet as there are some security issues I need to take into consideration before the guide is suitable for people to follow.

Drop me a line if you decide to have another go with your modem - I'll try my best to help you.
