Choosing between USB and PCI is more of a "which is best for the machine its being plugged into" question. If a USB dongle is not going to stick out too far, foul the wall or your leg etc etc then I personally would go with that as its cheap and portable.
But you cannot beat a wire![]()

The only benefit with the USB is you can remove it and take it with you when away from the PC so thats more security for you.
However, if your planning to do media streaming of videos, audio etc I would personally stick with wired, unless you plan to implement an 802.11n solution.
you can also go PCI-E wireless for £15 with abit's Airpace

Thx for the opinions guys. My gaming rig is staying wired. The other machine is only going to use the wireless connection for internet use.
If i had to go wireless, i'd do it with a usb adapter on a 2m usb ext. cord.
PCI adapters can have problems getting a signal since the huge emi-emitting metal box (your pc) is between it and the wlan signal. With usb on a cable, you can at least move the antenae up onto the wall.
