    Wireless NAS with DG834gt

I have bought a lacie 300gb NAS and want to use it to stream video to my xbmc xbox.

I have just signed uo to o2 Broadband so should be receiving a new wireless router(same as BeBox?) i will use this as my primary router.

Is it possible to connect the NAS to my old netgear dg834gt so I can access the drive on my network(hence the xbmc). Will put them both in the garage out of the way.

(xbox is connected by cat5 to xbox.) unfortunately in the same room so noisy.

I also have a FON router that I have never used - if that would be easier

Please think twice about using a wireless NAS, for anything like streaming etc use CAT5 or even home plug.

Wireless works by bursting packets in groups so for video its not the best way to do things also HD video will really struggle at times.

yes. It would be but I just never use wireless for datasore. Why not get a standard NAS box and some homeplug adapters?

Cool Re: Wireless NAS with DG834gt

I bought a Western Digital 500GB NAS unit to keep movies and stuff for the kids centralised for the kids about a year ago. attached it to my DG834GT and set-up. Easy Peasy and never a moments problem.

Go for it. Great way to get the other users away from your system. WD also has 2 USB print servers.

    Good luck
    Dave
