    Sky broadband

Anyone has any positive feedback about sky broadband. I'm with BT at the moment with the 8MB connection but just got sky+ installed and wondered what Sky's 16mb connection was like.

    Re: Sky broadband

so far i have had broadband with them for 3 weeks. but connection keeps disconnecting constantly. have tried to get support for the last 2 weeks (not great speaking to India and told it was my anti-virus...funny thing is I had no antivirus installed.

finally today someone rang me back after I kicked off with India again on the phone demanding some service and they offered to change the router over

not very impressive. but if a new router can help fix the problem. then £10 a month for a 12mb unlimited* line (cant get the full 16mb) isn't bad now is it

my advice if u are getting 8mb with BT and its stable, then stick with them

Common problem with that router with the SKY BB firmware.
I spoke to them today aswell and a new generation router from Netgear is being delivered in 10 days to solve it.

My old house i could get 15-16mb. My new house is alot further from the exchange and im only getting around 9-10mb.
Still bloody good for a tenner though.

I have heard many things about sky, its a hit and miss, either your lucky and everything works or if it doesnt then strap in for the ride

There is very little info though...Just a picture of the new Netgear one (horrible looking) and the new Sagem one (looks like a freeview box).

    Google 'new sky bb router'

Try your own router instead of the Sky provided one.

    They are notoriously rubbish!

If you need steps to get your username / password just google or I can PM to you.
