    BE/o2 in Glasgow - experience?

I've been looking at Be for a while now, and, thinking about finally taking the plunge and changing over from PlusNet.

My only concern is one of my mates who's a mile down the road had it, and cancelled it after about a month - connection was slow, kept dropping out etc... Has anyone else had experience with Be in and around Glasgow? I know it's all down to the exchange, but, curious none the less.

    Any advice welcome

Yup, have been on them for 7 or 8 months now. The order was fulfilled quickly, abiout 2 weeks I think, and have had no issus at all with them, apart from maybe a wee bit of planned downtime. The connection has been rock solid other than that.

Can't remember how far from the exchange I am, think it's arounf 0.8km away, and I've been getting aroung 15mb down and the 1.3 up, with no tweaking carried out. Have just upgraded to Be Pro and am getting my 2.5mb up and now 17mb down. Had to ask for the Upload Plus though, you don't seem to get it as standard. What with the recent price drops etc I can't hesitate to recommend them. I'm on thje Finnieston end of St Vincent Street btw if that helps you location wise.

not sure about glasgow, but where i live they have been spot on! not perfect but the best ive had by a long, long way!

2km line tho so only get about 13 down but get full up 1.3! only small gripe is non british call centres! so if you got a broad acent youll have to talk slowly

A wee update for you seeing as this thread has re-appeared. After finally getting somewhere with BT I got my phone line installed in my new flat (in Tradeston, for those that know Glasgow. 10 weeks it took them, after constant badgering and letters). I phoned Be on Thursday (the non UK call centre is a downside admittedly) got a enw account set up, activated it from the email they sent me when I got into work today (my first day back in since last week) and I've received confirmation that my line will go live on Monday 17th - so that's 6 days.

    Great stuff.
