Does anyone know what the fastest home plug pack is? I need to stream some HD content and thisis the only way I can do it.

200mbit at present. Except that's actually on full duplex, so it's only really 100mb. I was looking into this too. It's a Netgear one, retails about £100 for 2. It really seems that transfer rates spike very easily though. Plug in your phone charger and your network can slow to a crawl.
I've heard rumours they're bringing out a 300mbit version, again that'll be full duplex I guess.

thanks mate.

I have been told the dlink ones are very good as well

Zyxel have a 'good' offering.
But running wires is always going to be better, problem is my flat mate (and 1/3rd owner) won't let me
throw new ArgumentException (String, String, Exception)
I have been told the Zyxel 200mb are no where near as good as the netgear or DLink. I use 85mb Zyxel at home at the moment and they do the job for my xbox 360. I wish i could run some nice CAT5

I've used some of the slower 85mbit netgear powerline plugs for distributing a broadband connection around a building where running wires isn't practical - they're certainly a much nicer solution than wireless for that application.
The speeds (and distances) you achieve are affected by electrical noise on your circuits. Stuff like florescent lights, fridges, motors, surge protectors etc that introduce noise will all affect the speed of these devices.
that should be enough to stream HD video

I have had to switch from cable to Zyxel plugs (complaints about cable running down the hall!) - if anything the speed has improved - subjectively by 10-20%. I reckon that supports the two "achieved" rates above.
& yes it's neat & simple - wish it were cheaper & I'd use it more
it would be fantastic if they could build them right into a plug socket. No external box, just a RJ45 below your socket
