Switch ISP! HEXUS teams up with Zen

HEXUS has teamed up with Zen Internet after simply nothing but praising comments in the HEXUS community.

I myself have been with several ISPs over the years - infact prior to working at HEXUS I worked for Nildram. Still, the world changes and so do our needs. We have teamed up with Zen in order to make it easier for all HEXUS members to switch to a better ISP.

I've literally (this morning!) started the process of moving my Pipex account to Zen, I've filled out the form and got things flowing, it was so simple.

So - to support HEXUS and make sure you are 'associated' with us when you sign up to them please use the link below.

If you have any problems when you have placed an order please get in touch with myself via PM and I will make sure they get resolved if Zen can't help quick enough!

If you need any more reasons to swtich - check this comparison out (Pipex, Tiscali, Demon, Orange!) thinkbroadband :: Compare broadband service providers

    Good work guys...

I now have no excuses not to go back to Zen.

I always sing their praises havign been a customer for 3-4 years at uni, and recommending them to my parents and after a miserable 12 months with Pipex I'm ready to come back.

My only issue is cost.. are there any benefits to switching back to zen? When I first joined there was a £0 connection charge.

I may have to go back to them... I only went to BT for a free BT Vision box and (sort of) unlimited downloads.

Re: Switch ISP! HEXUS teams up with Zen

I may be considering this for my company's connections - we're with Nildram at the moment and I'm trying to get a straight answer regarding whether we're going to wind up LLU'ed. If we are then I'm taking thirty or so connections to Zen quicker than you can say "**** Tiscali!".

Well Zen have done well out of my recommendations over the years and never heard of anyone on Zen that didn't get issues sorted if they were reasonabl. My dad etc has it at home. Work has a business 8Meg unlimited max and about half our engineers have it at home and its just a 0 hassle situation with them and worth paying the money for.

When I can scrape off the VM curse without incurring too much cost I'll certainly be giving them a go.

Anything for those of us sensible enough to have seen the light ages ago and gone with Zen already?

I like 'em for tha fact I can get through to tech support straight away... none of this hanging on hold for 20 minutes like I used to have with Pipex. And even though I'm on capped usage, I can buy more if needed which is rolled over to the following month(s) if unused.

Ooh, and a static IP is very handy for someone who travels a lot and might need to VPN back to base... all I need to do is set the damn thing up! :-S

Re: Switch ISP! HEXUS teams up with Zen

I used to work for Zen and loved the BB connection

LEft there now and they wanted me to pay 35 quid for a 1 meg connection so i`m now with sky. So far nothing has gone wrong

The thing with Zen is the service does cost a bit more money but when things go wrong the staff know what they are doing so its kind of an insurance policy paying the xtra

Re: Switch ISP! HEXUS teams up with Zen

im hoping there is a swing away from 50p a month (or whatever) services and more people choosing isp's based on service rather than price... but you know the general public - not going to happen

Re: Switch ISP! HEXUS teams up with Zen

The challenge is you get what you pay for - and support / quality are the first things to cut when the price gets low - there is no way that even with the most insane economies of scale that Tiscali can be making money on every single person who signs up - that is, if they use the package to the full.

Re: Switch ISP! HEXUS teams up with Zen

they should probably start charging more rather than less then.. because its a loss leader and also there main product with nothing else to make up the deficit at the moment apart from crippling peoples connections.

Re: Switch ISP! HEXUS teams up with Zen

Am I missing something here? This just seems to be Hexus "ramping" a partnership.

Don't get me wrong, Zen seem to have a pretty good reputation - unlike Pipex! - but having looked at their website their prices seem VERY high and their download limits VERY restrictive.

I've just switched to O2. Their Customer Support ranks as highly as Zen's (just do a compare on Thinkbroadband) and I have a 8Mb unrestricted line for £12.50 - i.e. a better line at a fraction of the cost of Zen. Oh, and if you have an O2 mobile contract, it's just £7.50 (!) for the broadband.

Like I say, Zen may be good, but O2 seem to rate just as highly and are much cheaper and no where near as restrictive.

    Just my two cents.

EDIT: And the Zen site talks about a "one off activation fee of £40"!!!!! And O2/Be is ADSL2+, so for those people close to their exchange, you'd be seeing speeds twice as fast as Zen's packages, for LESS cost. The more I look at Zen, the less impressed I am, TBH.
