    Basically Three Options:

    1) Setup ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) in Windows, which will allow you to connect one PC with a Modem then let the others share it. You would also need a switch/hub to connect the PC's together, and the web connection would only work if the main PC is switched on and connected. You would also need a software firewall for each of the PC's (e.g. ZoneAlarm)

    2) Get a Switch with ADSL modem built in. This is what I have and there are many brands out there to choose from, mine is the D-Link DSL-504 which is a basic 4 port 100 base-T switch with the ADSL modem. See Here...
    http://www.dlink.co.uk/pages/product...ms_filters.asp
You would still need to setup a software firewall on each of the PC's (again ZoneAlarm for it's ease of use)

    3) Get a more advanced version of 2) with a Firewall built in, this would remove the need to install software Firewalls but would be a lot more complicated unless you know how to set up a Firewall ?

Most manufacturers also do versions with a built in Wireless Access Point if that's your bag. If you ever need to expand beyond the four ports on the switch you can simply patch the router into a larger (8/16/24 port) switch and run the PC's from that.

as you only have three machines i can recommend the Netgear 614 router, it does both adsl and cable. It has built in NAT and stealth port facilities so you will be secure to some extent I run the cable version of this router, have done for a year now and it runs like a dream. First time out the box it takes about 3 minutes to install and away you go

Your USB modem will become redundant if you go with an "ADSL router" setup as "ADSL Router" translates as a router with an inbuilt ADSL modem.

The 330 is an awkward, ugly thing anyways

    Now the Decision...

    Wireless or cabled...
If possible, would it be easy to hardwire a network between PC's?
If so a router like this would suffice... link

If you needed the wireless option, the same router (essentially) with the added wireless capabilities can be found... here

Both feature firewalls to protect your network and are very easy to setup, even for a complete novice!

One thing to bear in mind, if you go for the wireless option, more than likely, you would need 2 wireless cards for 2 of the computers (leaving the remaining 1 computer to connect via Cat5-RJ45 network cable)

Just ask if you need any more info.....

Great Stuff! I've used this myself, set it up in under 5mins, an that was whilst making a cup of tea

IMHO the Netgear DG834 is perfect for anyone in your position...
... plus it looks good too

Let us know how you get on!
