Unable to view google in any browser

Hey guys just installed windows and updated it, then tried surfing the web with this one annoying problem. I cannot view google.com/google.co.uk at all, not in any browser netscape/firefox/internet explorer etc. every time i type in the url the connection times out and the page is not displayed. Every other website is fine just cannot view google search.

Any help would be much appreciated

    regards infin

First thing that springs to mind is that your hosts file has been compromised.

Not sure what else it could be.

Can you connect if you enter Google's Ip address directly (try 72.14.221.104)

Can you ping Google? Try a tracert to see where your packets are going. (it may be a DNS issue (not a hosts) - what are you using as your DNS server?

I had Google play up today at work, about 14:30 ish, so I wonder if they are changing their DNS servers across to new hosts.

Re: Unable to view google in any browser

Yiu could try changing your DNS server (try open DNS) and see if that resolves the problem - if it does the problem is almost certainly with Nildram's DNS server. If Google have changed their IP address for any reason, and Nildram's DNS server hasn't picked it up yet, it would explain it - pretty odd set of circumstances though.
