Hi guys my house has sky broadband max which i have to say for £10 a month is excellent value. However we got a pi*h sagem router with it and i want to change it for one of my own. Is this possible? Or do sky make you use their own router?

i think its against their t&c to use any other router iirc. shouldnt you have a netgear router with them?
well i have the sagem and want to replace it with a netgear

Just buy a Sky Netgear router that someone is selling off. There were some for sale on here and loads on eBay. You can also flash the Netgear with hacked firmware to open up a plethora of options.
Tbh ive spent over £1500 this week and i really don't want to spend anymore
I will try and get it to work with this netgear first. At the end of the day its still a router and all i should need is my username and password.

I'm pretty sure that it's only the Netgear routers from sky that can be hacked, if not just the black v2. That was the situation when I last investigated anyway.
Sky won't give out your log-in details to you and they are encrypted and locked in your router.
