    netgear wgr614 v.6

    ok i got a netgear wgr614 and my cousin password protected it for the setting and wireless connection. i want to use the internet with my psp but when i connect and give the right password it says unable to connect. is there anyway i can connect to netgear or can anyone tell me how to reset the settings on netgear without the user name and password. cant ask my cuz because he is busy and dont have time to give me the pass.

    The router will have its own username and password thats seperate from the wireless password. This is used to admin the router.

    Simply log in to your router, go to the wireless section and change the password.

    If you dont know your username/password for the router, you will need to do a master reset, although this will cause it to loose all of its settings. There will be a button on the back to do this (and more information will be in the manual )

    ummm i tryied 192.168.1.1 but it doesnt log me in. i get timed out

    Netgear ones are usually 192.168.0.1 by default I thought. But if you haven't got physical access to the box (ie if you shouldn't be trying to use it) then you might be out of luck if you don't know the password.

    no i am not trying to get into the neighbors wireless. i have it at my house and i try 192.168.1.1 but it says timed out

    Theres a reset button near the antenna hold it for about 10 - 15 seconds to reset the router to default settings.

    thanks for that mrt9888 i got it to work with the reset finally my laptop and psp can connect to it!!! THanks
