linksys wag54g v2

i have just got a linksys wag54g ver 2 and wonder if i can use it on virgin media broadband any help is more than welcome

Nope. Its an ADSL router with no uplink port. You can not use it on cable.

excuse the lack of knowledge am new to this all i want to do is set up my wireless router and go on line with my wii my pc can run of ethernet cable just carnt seem to get it up and running

You'll want something WRT54 based if you're looking at Linksys (which is a good idea!). There is also the Linux firmwares which will give you more options than you will ever need for many versions of it (check first though )
