Wireless Cards for Vista Home Premium 64?

I got the last couple of bits for my new machine yesterday, and put it all together. All working ok except the wireless card is not performing correctly. I cant seem to find a driver that is compatible and which works properly. So I've decided to leave the wireless card in my old machine and just go and buy a new card to use in the new one. FWIW I know the card works fine normally as I'm using it at the moment to access the net on my old PC, so it's definitely a driver issue.

Anyone got any suggestions as to which cards will work out of the box and dont require lots of messing around please? Willing to consider both USB and PCI cards. Preferably something that is pretty easy to pick up (ie available at pc world or maplins or somewhere similar).

pci would be better as they consume less power. i have found that as long as your router is decent, most cards will work well with it. belkin pci + belkin router was rubbish, but the same belkin pci and linksys dd-wrt works a treat. however i would not reccomend belkin.

try and aim for one the same make as your router. i do know that linksys make good pcmcia cards, so maybe follow this up

I currently have a Belkin PCI wireless card. However it didnt come with a vista 64 driver and despite reading several online solutions & downloading different sets of drivers, nothing seems to work.

Router is a netgear WD834G (or whatever the exact make is... it's fairly common anyways)

Re: Wireless Cards for Vista Home Premium 64?

Stick with the netgear PCI card then. Your router box will have a pciture and model on the box. They also claim to be Vista compatible

By the way are you sure you don't mean a Netgear DG834G? The PCI that goes with this is the WG311 abd USB equiv is WG111
