    Remote acess

    Hi,

I need to be able to transfer files to/from a remote PC from time to time. VNC and the ilk whilst very good, do not allow this. Anyone recommend a freeware application please?

you'll need to set up an FTP server - make sure you secure it though !

Yep, while basic, TightVNC can do it - I use it

    Re: Remote acess

Be careful using some of these apps over the Internet - if they don't support encryption then you're sending your username and password in plain text for anyone to see. Same goes for ftp. Consider tunneling through an encrypted ssh connection or pick a protocol that supports encryption (I think UltraVNC supports encryption but it's not enabled by default).
