Anyone seen this "Belkin Network 5-Port USB2.0 Hub"?

    Belkin Network 5-Port USB2.0 Hub - Ebuyer

Sounds great, wonder if it works as well as they say?

I need something simple to get my USB external drives onto the network, tried to get a Linksys NSLU-2 to work but no luck.

Re: Anyone seen this "Belkin Network 5-Port USB2.0 Hub"?

NSLU2 and this device have completely different functionality and purpose! The USB hub links USB peripherals together and links them to a TCP/IP network, via wireless. The NSLU2 is a networked attached Storage device (NAS) that uses USB to connect to the external drives. (With the advantage that it can be hacked to provide additional functionality over and above the designed functions)

However if you need help with some aspect of the NSLu 2 - start a new thread under hardware or operating systems and applications! (probably the latter)

This sounds really cool. It supports multi-function printers too.

It does sound very interesting and it's certainly something I'd be looking at myself if it wasn't for a rather high price. At around £40 I'd jump for it but not £56.

But you do if you want to apply the hacked firmware and make it do something interesting!

Umm, the way i see it, both devices should allow my USB external drives to be accessible on a network without any specific computer to be left on and stationary to provide access to the drives. right?

I will do a new thread on that soon though

Its been a little while since ive read up on it, but i got the impression that the standard firmware was picky and wouldnt let me connect the 2-3 external NTFS drives, especially as one is a bus-powered 2.5" drive.

    i hope im wrong though
