    Broadband Transition

Ok, so it's blatantly obvious I need to ditch ADSL from BT due to their complete lack of corporate ethics. I've considered switching to Sky (yes ok, probably even less ethics!), but I can't get a straight answer about how long I'd be without broadband.

They tell you the switch over takes about 2 hours, fine I can live with that, chances are it'd happen whilst I was at work.

What I don't understand is all this stuff about it taking 10-15 days to get an engineer over to make the change, am I without broadband for that time? If not, am I left to pay for two services during the "changeover" period?

    Re: Broadband Transition

Basically, you need to phone BT and get you MAC code. Then phone your new provider, order broadband and supply the MAC code. The new provider then gives you a date the broadband will be connected.

On that day the broadband will swap from one provider to the other, just a simple case of changing the router over. You shouldnt be without broadband for more than a few hours.

    I highly recommend O2 broadband.
