    www.speedtest.net - Maidenhead server gone?

    I noticed that the Maidenhead server seems to have gone does anyone know why?

    Maybe because it was always slower than London, even if its nearer than London...

    I agree it was the best one of the lot, I always got a very low ping and a pretty steady test.

    maybe i am confusing it with another server then... well London is fastest for me, followed by Sittingbourne

    Maidenhead only goes when the server is down for maintance. When it is back online it reapears. When you load up the site you will notice lag. That is the site checking to see what servers are online and to display. if the server is offline then it will not show it. It is faster for me to ping london even though maidenhead is recommended but when maidenhead is down i get really slow net and then dublin is my next recommended server before london. i am in machester btw.
    I know this is an old thread but for people in the future i thourght i would post as today maidenhead went down once again.
