    also, is speed linked with latency, i.e. as speed goes up, latency goes down, cos we have ordered a faster download rate

    Normally you can keep your AOL address, because they operate them for non-subscribers. What you will loose is the interface program you normally use and you'll have to acess it via their normal website.

    With regards to latency, it's variable and AFAIK bears little relation to speed. It's based on the abilitiy of the ISP's network to handle your traffic. The issues I'm having with Sky's latency atm are probably down to other ppl using the network.

    No problem with keeping your AOL address, when you switch you will have to register again which is no big deal.
