If I am in a shared house and use a mobile phone for modem or one of those USB Dongles with a laptop, how easy would it be for other people in the house to spy on me browsing the internet?
And how can you detect people who are spying on you?

If you use your own mobile phone then no one in the house will know what P0rn sites you go to.
Don't worry.

It depends on what you mean by spying?
Webcams in your room?or trojans?
If you're talking about plan old interception of data from the modem you're using - don't worry about it. Once its left your device is largely down to the network its connected to.
Alternately listen for a "Spys sappin ma centry" - usually means there is one around![]()
Okay, Balls. The last Nokia dial up connection Set up pretty easy but the hardware cable was crappy and kept disconnecting.
The Sony I use now holds better. Thing is I have problems today. The phone automatically set up a Local Area connection so as soon as I plug it in atomatically connects online, Real slow.
I disabled this and set up a dial up connection with the Sony. And it has had a few moments of going batty. Internet always scared me now it seems my ignorance is really begining to kick me in the ass.
I've tried looking online to try and find out how to fix this and to configure everything right. Does anyone here know of any websites or books that could point me in the right direction?
