Why are PDUs so bloody expensive??

I need a new PDU for my APC UPS and I never noticed how stupidly expensive they are!!

Anyone got any advice on where is best to buy these

(I know it should be in the shopping section but the people who read this area will now more about it)

Re: Why are PDUs so bloody expensive??

dell. nobody will come close to dell price on PDUs (<£100 for any model, pretty much, and they're rebadged APC jobs). however...

    1) delivery times right now are obscene. expect up to a month

    2) they're not clearly marked on the dell wobsite, best bet is to contact your local friendly dell account manager

    3) C19-C20 (16A male-female) power cables are like gold dust at the moment

So what I need to find is a surge protector with a mail kettle lead connector (C13 is it?)

    like this

    http://www.pcwb.com/catalogue/item/S...4?cidp=Froogle

I am only going to run 1 x Cisco 2950, 1 small NAS and a compaq rack KVM from it

Quick check of Computer 2000 (who I use to get work stuff from)

Not much cheaper than PCWB - and for the time and effort it would take to register and get it from C2k I'd get it from PCWB. PLus it's outta stock too !

This do? There are others in the range with more outlets, and IEC plugs, but you could change the plug on these yourself.
