Since I got my new PC (which is lovely), I have been having alot of internet connection problems.
I have been through 3 wireless adapters, including 2 Netgear products (one USB and at the moment, PCI) and a DLink USB device.
Currently on the PCI Netgear which has been by far the best but I still suffer badly with random cut outs for no reason - can go all day without one or just 30 minutes with it happening. I have to shut the PC down and turn the router on and off and wait a few minutes, and turn the PC back on.
To be honest it's quite stressful as my old PC always had an excellent signal in the same location with a PCI "Sitecom" card from around 2004. That was a machine with Windows XP Home, I currently have Windows Vista Home Premium.
Can anyone recommend me a really decent PCI Wireless Network adapter?
Or should I go wired?
I really don't know what to do. This is the only PC in the house and obviously then the only one that needs network access.
The router is in the kitchen, there is no phone line in the kitchen.
I feel that as the old computer never had any internet problems with a wireless PCI card I should be able to stick with the wireless concept on this new PC - I just haven't found any products yet apart from one or two Edimax ones that appear to be any good or will work with Vista.
I refuse to touch another Netgear, Belkin or DLink product again.
Please help.
