Pay as you go Internet in France

Anyone know a provider in france who does dialup Internet access without a subscription? Alternativly a geographic number in the UK (ie not 0845/0870/0844 etc) would do..

    Cheers....

No such thing as free internet (as you know!) sofor dial up, it is either a subscription service and an 0800 or geographic number, or an 0845 number. Compuserve used to do this, (and I had a compuserve account just for that about 4 years ago) but they seem to have stopped selling subscriptions and it is all AOL.

BT Yahoo offers subscription dial up - but no indication of how it is accessed, and so do Demon with a UK number acessible from outside the UK only.

There were some companies that offered Compuserve like accessability, but normally through local premium numbers - I haven't looked at this one in detail, but it appears to offer that sort of service.

Alternatively, as Wnadoo are France's main internet provider, they might do a dial up PAYG service using the French equivalent of 0845.

yes i think thats what hes after, a geographic number.. like an 01 / 02 number in uk.

im guessing because you have free landline numbers on your phone.. be carefull if thats the case because with virgin at least, you will be charged after 60 mins..

No - in the original post, b0redom is going to France and wants internet dial up there - but international calls to UK geographic numbers are cheaper than to 0845 numbers!

    Would this suit you?

    http://www.orange.fr/bin/frame.cgi?u...ngagement.html

HSDPA 3.5G Dongle for you laptop, on a PAYG plan. An €8 top up card buys an hour of high speed access. (Valid over a 15 day period)

Or if you will be in France long enough for a contract, then €10 a month gets you 2 hours per day of usage. (24/7 Usage costs €50 per month). No doubt there is a fair usage policy, no Torrents or VOIP etc, but my French is not up to reading the T&C.
