    Best ISP for me?

I have been looking around for a new ISP for a while. My current one costs £25 a month for *upto* 2mps. I get more like 512 when its working, which isn't often.

I conect to the local village using a wireless bridge so I don't have to pay line rental (we have no house phone).

At the moment I am looking at Zen or Be. I will be looking at an unlimited download but I don't need more than 512 because that is all my phone line can handle.

Does anyone have any other recomendations?
    With love and many thanks,

    Re: Best ISP for me?

I suspect your ISP is tied to the village wireless connection, so if you want to switch ISPs, you will need to get a phone line installed. Once you have done that, there are any number of relatively inexpensive ISPs available, although you need to read the T&Cs very carefully, and remember that very cheap ISPs are cheap because they have high contention ratios and or cut back on customer services.

I guess that being in a village, cable isn't an option for you. One other option is a satellite based system - very expensive!

You could use a mobile phone connection, but again they can be expensive (you pay on a per megabyte basis) and again tied to your mobile phone provider. Read and research the various packages on offer to see if any suit your needs. Again if you are in a remote location, performance may be poor.

I'd go for Be, I've heard nothing but good things.

Alas yes, and if yopu are in a remote village where the economics preclude Local loop Unbundling, you are stiuck with regular ADSL with speed of up to 8Mb/s. Hoever there are still plenty of ISPs you can register with.

Personally I am with Zen (Iam in a village in a similar situation) - they are very good, buit at the high end of the price range.

    Re: Best ISP for me?

I was litterally just about to sign up to zen, when I noticed, their 256 unlimited sevice is gone! That would have been perfect for me, because with the other services I would probably only get that speed anyway, and I don't think 5gb will be enough for me
    With love and many thanks,
