I've posted about some of this before, but really want some answers now. I get strange drop outs and every day the connection seems to be working slower and faster depending on the day. I think some of it is to do with Vista and settings, and not remembering them and God knows what...
Sometimes the problem isn't fixed by anything other than a Router reset (as well as turning the PC off whilst this happens).
I haven't manually entered any settings, but here is what Vista is saying about my various woes.
I am sure the hardware is fine and this is a settings issue. Most of the problems I have recieved in general with this PC have been down to Vista, so if I can fix this for free without having to buy anything or ring any help line that is great.
Edit - It is running reaaaally slow at the moment, was fast when I turned the PC on half an hour ago. Tried resetting the wireless adapter through vista and flushing the DNS through command prompt.
Now it's quicker...
It is worth pointing out I have to run a program called "VISTA ANTI-LAG" which stops Vista looking for new connections every 60 seconds and causing terrible lag/drop out for 2 seconds on the minute.
Finally, I know this may be as simple as putting in the details manually (IP, DNS.. Subnet Mask or something?).. Where do I get these and should I use other DNS like openDNS? Don't know much about it
