Best free e-mail service?

I was wondering what the best free online e-mail service is? My Yahoo account became an absolute spam trap, so I made a Googlemail account, but I've been experiencing problems with e-mails not being recieved. I've Google'd and apparently others have issues with Googlemail.

So, are there any others apart from Yahoo and Googlemail that are any good?

Another +1 for Gmail. Massive storage space, short and usually memorable email address and one of the best spam filters ever.

Whats wrong with hotmail? Prepare for spam that you sign yourself up for, i have 2 hotmail accounts which one is for spam (like free trials etc) and the other is for sales e.g. play and banking.

I get some spam in gmail but its my fault really, signed up for some silly things, get alot of penis enlargement stuff

It's automatically marked as spam though, so i just mass delete every 2-3 days

I have only ever used hotmail. Its done all I have needed for the past 6 years.

I have to say, as good as Gmail is, and it is better than Hotmail, I have stuck with Hotmail for many years like Jay. But Gmail would be my recomendation.
