    Wireless Router Suggestions

I am currently using a D Link DI 524 but it randomly disconnects the wifi at least once a week which is a problem as I rent out my basement and the tenants dont get any internet when it drops and I dont know as I dont use wifi. I just want a reliable wireless router. I have 3 pc's, PS3 and 360 connected to the device.

I'm very happy with my Netgear. But if you're wanting latest spec and go for 802.11n, how about BT's hub? includes ADSL modem, SPI firewall, ethernet hub, WiFi access point etc, and is currently on offer free with any of their packages.

Thanks for the suggestion, I guess you did not spot my location in my profile, I live in Vancouver so I am unable to purchase a BT package. Which netgear device do you have?

    Re: Wireless Router Suggestions

The last "relaible" wifi router I had was a Draytek 2600We ( its ADSL as oppsoed to cable). Sadly was cooked by lightening. IF I had the cash, I would go for Draytek 2820n.

Otherwise try a Lynksys with custom firmware (tomato)

    Re: Wireless Router Suggestions

Have you tried upgrading the firmware?
I've got a netgear Wifi - Ethernet bridge, it just works, seems like a good build.

    Re: Wireless Router Suggestions

I'd second the netgear (but as kmac says, if you have the cash go for a Draytek) I got this for my sis and not had to do any tech support on in yet!

    http://www.netgear.co.uk/wireless_mo...er_dg834pn.php

Just using it as a standard 'g' access point though, not made use of the MiMo stuff.

    Re: Wireless Router Suggestions

I cannot seem to find Draytek or Netgear routers in Vancouver and they do not need to be ADSL as I am using a cable modem.

Draytek have US distributors but nothing in Canada as far as I can see. For Netgear goto http://netgear.com/WheretoBuy/authorizedresellers.aspx and punch in your postal/zip code - that should show you local resellers. If you want to spend the extra for the Draytek (I highly recommend the 2820N) then you should take a look at the US resellers: I'd be very surprised if they don't ship to you. (www.draytek.us)
