Messed internet connection after install firewire

Hi need help here.
Just installed a firewire card on my mate's pc. Installation went smoothly, firewire and ipod are working, but the internet connection has stopped working?
No conflicts whatsoever.. how to solve this mistery?

Checked under internet connections? Adding a firewire card will add a network interface - IE may be trying to use that instead of the normal one.
